Conflict : Danger and Opportunity

Conflict is part of everyone’s life - an everyday occurrence - both a danger and an opportunity. The Breakthrough Centre’s approach to conflict emphasises the developmental opportunities inherent in conflict. We are more concerned with building capability to handle conflict constructively, to learn from it, and to build rewarding and productive relationships than simply resolving disputes. Conflict is seen as a catalyst to growth and transformation. We value conflict and seek to change restrictive mindsets whereby many people are accustomed to viewing conflict as something dark, threatening, or even evil - to be avoided at all costs. We help individuals, teams and organisations to recognise and exploit the learning and developmental opportunities which accompany conflict while containing or controlling the corresponding potential for danger.
